Although I have done both contract and in-house work for design agencies, entertainment groups and other various clients my most recent in-house experience is at Arbonne. As a beauty and skin care company, Arbonne is a large operation consisting of over 350 employees internationally, 30 of which makeup the Marketing department. I started at Arbonne as the Senior Graphic Designer in the Creative group with 5 other graphic designers. My specialty was in layout, typography and identity design. Below are some examples of the work I created including an award winning piece designed for Arbonne’s annual event.
As the business shifted and departments within Marketing changed, an opportunity to manage the Digital Group came up and I jumped at the chance. Interactive media has been a passion and it set me on a new path as the Supervisor of Digital within the Creative department. I was now able to work on a broad range of mediums including web, video and traditional interactive media. Some of the videos I worked on even won a few Telly Awards.
While working in a managerial capacity I thought it would be best to put into action what I had learned from working with Arbonne’s various business units. The Marketing department had some kinks and mostly with project management and workflow. With the support of a couple key individuals, I implemented a project management system and workflow that brought all the groups within the Marketing department together. After it was implemented there was even a little internal award for the initiative set forth. With four years under my belt at Arbonne I have seen quite a bit of change, but I still get to manage and direct great team of interactive designers. We are currently working on some exciting projects that definitely keep the creative juices flowing.
